DHG has signed a lease with Quooker, inventor and manufacturer of the very first boiling water tap in the world, for the lease of Smartlog Rotterdam 3. This high-quality distribution center is located on the Eemhavenweg in the Waalhaven area of Rotterdam.
Smartlog Rotterdam 3 has a total surface area of 17,777 m², consisting of 15,527 m² warehouse, 1,896 m² mezzanine and an office space of 354 m². DHG started the construction of Smartlog Rotterdam 3 at the end of last year at risk, construction is now almost complete. Quooker will start using the warehouse immediately after delivery, on 1 October.
The Dutch company Quooker was founded in 1987 by inventor Henri Peteri and has grown into a worldwide concept. The Quooker is now well on its way to becoming an indispensable item in the kitchen. The current location in Ridderkerk has become too small to meet the expected growth in the coming years. From the end of 2020, use will be made of a new logistics HUB at Eemhavenweg 44 in the port of Rotterdam. The international logistics process will be organized from this new location.
Smartlog Rotterdam 4, 5 and 6 will also be completed from the beginning of 2021. These Smartlogs at brownfield locations in the Rotterdam Waalhaven area are being developed by DHG at risk. They are uniquely located directly at the barge terminals of UWT, some of which are still available for rental. DHG thus adds more than 92,000 m² of new Smartlogs to its development portfolio in Rotterdam. The total SMARLTOG development portfolio now amounts to more than 1,100,000 m².
